AltEons raises equity for 1.5 GW+ Indian portfolio from Sanmar Group

  • Investment supports initial 210 MW hybrid project, and upcoming pipeline
  • AltEons to secure another 800 MW by year-end

India-based Sanmar Group has acquired a majority stake in renewable energy developer AltEons Energy for an undisclosed sum, The Economic Times reported on 1 September.

The report did not provide details.

Sanmar’s investment will support the development of over 1.5 GW of renewable energy projects across India, enabling corporate and industrial customers to accelerate their decarbonisation journey while ensuring reliable, firm renewable power, according to an emailed press release today to Infralogic.

AltEon has an initial 210 MW construction-stage wind-solar-battery-storage hybrid project in the state of Maharashtra, according to the release. Apart from this capacity, AltEons will secure another 800 MW pipeline by the end of the year.

The firm focuses on Maharashtra and is also monitoring opportunities in Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh as industrial and data centre activity grows, according to the ET report.
