The Road To Net Zero

Private markets already play a role in funneling investment into sustainable infrastructure, but far greater engagement will be needed in the years ahead if governments are to achieve their net-zero ambitions. How can this be realized? And where do the obstacles lie, particularly for private market participants? This study seeks to answer those questions.

Highlights include:

  • 40% of respondents say that more than half of their AUM is managed in line with achieving net-zero targets.
  • More than three-quarters of respondents (77%) believe their firm’s ESG strategy has had a positive effect on their investment process over the last 12-24 months, including 40% who say the effect has been very positive.
  • Most respondents (57%) believe that assets in the power system/energy space will see the greatest relative increase in net-zero-related private investment over the next 12-24 months.
