The decisive victory of President Javier Milei’s party La Libertad Avanza (LLA) in Argentina’s midterm elections will help advance its reform agenda, two sources close to the matter said.

When the new congress takes office on 10 December, the LLA representatives “will be able to do more than defend the president’s decrees and vetoes, and will assume an offensive stance,” said the first source. The 26 October “surprising victory has reconfigured the political scenario and allows for passing Milei’s planned tax and labor reforms as soon as in early 2026,” the source stated.
