AE Industrial Partners’ GS Precision and Moeller could be acquired as one piece

AE Industrial Partners-backed aerospace companies GS Precision and Moeller Aerospace, which are both exploring a sale, could be acquired together, said three sources familiar with the matter.

Last month, this news service reported that Brattleboro, Vermont-based GS and Wixom, Michigan-based Moeller are individually working with Lazard on a potential sale. For this report, the sources said the two companies collectively have projected 2024 EBITDA of around USD 70m. Suitors, which could include strategics and private equity firms, could acquire the businesses separately or combined, they added.

Books have not yet been distributed to prospective buyers, they said.

GS makes precision components and specialty hardware used in aerospace engines and defense systems. Moeller manufactures flight-critical jet engine components, including flow-path hardware such as turbine blades and nozzles.

Moeller and GS were acquired by AE in 2016 and 2020, respectively, for undisclosed amounts. In 2022, GS acquired aerospace and defense components maker SMC Aerospace and engineered gears company F.T. Gearing for undisclosed amounts.

AE and Lazard declined to comment. GS and Moeller did not return requests for comment.
