WorldVue Connect starts equity raise process

Managed Wi-Fi and entertainment company WorldVue Connect is working with Lazard on an equity raise process, said sources familiar with the matter.

When reached for comment, CEO Tommy Fatjo said, “My only comment at this time is that we are seeing a lot of consolidation opportunities in the market, both domestically and internationally. We are seeking a financial partner to help us take advantage of these opportunities and accelerate some exciting internal growth initiatives.”

Teasers were recently distributed to market.

The company rebranded from World Cinema Inc. last September to WorldVue following its June 2022 acquisition of Ohio-based Hospitality WiFi, which delivers internet protocol-based wired and wireless networking experiences to the hospitality industry.

“In August of 2022, we acquired Hospitality WiFi. Over the past year, we have focused on bringing together our mission to unify both companies as one,” Fatjo said at the time in the press release about the rebranding. “This decision was made to better reflect the evolution of the company, our industry and the needs of our clients and partners.”

WorldVue is a provider of managed Wi-Fi networks, entertainment and technology offerings like digital signage to hotels, multi-family housing, senior living, enterprise properties and other multi-dwelling units.

The company serves over 7,500 properties with over 960,000 rooms under management, according to its website.

Company founder Chester Dickson established the company in 1974. Beyond the US, the Houston-based company has offices throughout the Americas, UK, Netherlands and Dubai.

Transaction comps include Macquarie’s March 2023 investment in Pavlov Media, GI Partners’ investment in UK-based Ask4 from last September and Boldyn Network’s investment in Apogee several months ago, the first source familiar said.

Separately, Lazard advised GI Partners on acquiring Ask4 while also working with the sellers on the Pavlov deal.

Lazard declined to comment.
