Renewables developer selling solar-plus-storage portfolio
Mission Clean Energy is marketing a portfolio of six solar-plus-storage projects totaling 1.2 GW of solar and 4.6 GWh of storage, according to three sources familiar with the sale.
The projects are planned for Colorado and Idaho and are expected to come online between 2026 and 2028, the sources said. Keybanc Capital Markets is serving as financial advisor.
Mission Clean Energy and Keybanc Capital Markets did not respond to requests for comment.
The process, which is codenamed ‘Project Valencia,’ was launched around late September. First-round bids are due at the end of this month.
Headquartered in San Francisco, Mission Clean Energy is a utility scale renewable energy developer. Kuwait-backed investment firm Wafra acquired a majority share in Mission in October 2022. Aggregate Power Infrastructure is also an investor. Mission says it has aggregated an 8 GW project development pipeline of solar and storage projects across North America.
Mission CEO Max Bakker and Chief Operating Officer Valentina Cabrera previously worked together at Atlas Renewable Power, which Bakker founded in 2013.
