ITE’s Koenig says domestic manufacturing key for US transport assets – podcast
ITE Management (ITE) co-founder and managing partner Jason Koenig joined Infralogic’s Crossroads podcast to discuss the firm’s investment philosophy and how tariffs and changing global trading patterns are influencing its investments.
ITE is an alternative investment firm focused on transportation infrastructure.
Koenig discusses ITE Management’s acquisition in December 2025 of Milestone Equipment Holdings’ chassis business, which brought 36,000 chassis and Milestone’s chassis team into ITE’s portfolio.
“We really like the chassis, trailer and intermodal space,” he said, and noted that chassis and trailers are a key transportation tool for the movement of a wide variety of critical goods.
“We think we are building one of the great platforms to help continue building out this great American story, as our economy continues to evolve, with a focus more and more on domestic production, and moving goods and services around North America,” Koenig said.
In March 2025, ITE announced a strategic minority investment from funds managed by Blackstone Credit & Insurance.
“We are really pleased to have Blackstone Credit & Insurance as a partner within ITE,” Koenig said. ITE owns “great long-term assets, that have predictable cash flow,” he added, noting that ITE finances these investments with different combinations of asset-backed or unsecured financing.
A major focus at Blackstone Credit & Insurance is the purchase of asset-backed credit, Koenig said.
