Sleep Number is working on improving its operations and real estate with the help of advisors at AlixPartners and A&GE Real Estate Partners, said two sources familiar with the matter.

The vertically integrated mattress retailer known for its adjustable features has been struggling with declining sales as consumers hesitate to purchase replacement mattresses due to economic uncertainty and inflation in a post pandemic environment, the first source and a sector adviser said.
